The expressed views of the contributors of the entrepreneur are their own.
When I sat down with Scott Clawson, CEO of Culligan, there was no pomp, no buzzing and certainly no ego. It’s not trying to sell you anything. Culligan is almost 90-YY-oar water company based in the suburban Chicago and under Scott’s leadership is growing from $ 400 million to more than $ 3.3 billion, now more than 14 million households and two million in 90 countries! However, Scott did not meet as a typical CEO of the “large company”. He was entertaining, thoughtful and deeply controlled by a mission.
We put in the United Center, where Culligan is a formal moisturizing partner. It was appropriate. Sport has played a big role in Scott’s life and attributes a large part of its style leadership to the lessons of its basketball team at high school in the small town of Indiana. There is no star player mentality – just a group of people who work together with clear roles and shared goals. This philosophy seems to support its entire approach to business: to build a strong team, focus on Purimpose and lead with consistency over Flash.

Culligan’s purposes are simple: to provide healthy, safe and sustainable water to people around the world. It is a mission that matters more than most people realize. More than two billion people do not have access to safe drinking water. In the US, the recess is surrounded by obsolete infrastructure and chemical contamination in regions such as Michigan, Texas and parts of the Midwest, much more common than Many Theink. Scott and his team are trying to fix it not just through better filtration, but by reducing the plastics with one use and expanding access in insufficiently operated regions, such as Latin America and Southeast Asia.
But what excelled the most for me was just a mission. It was Scott’s clarity of thinking and a real sense of responsibility. He is not trying to be a personality of social media. It does not ease the subtitles. When you run the company for 10 years or more with this type of power, it could be easysl. But it builds something with a long -term impact and it teems to allow Culligan’s culture. It is rare to hear ceso say that every day wakes up and he loves You are going to work – not because it’s easy, but because it’s meaningful.
Scott also explained that the leadership may not be short -sighted. It advocates that more business leaders prefer sustainability, long -term value and human element of the company. At a time when the CEO of the CEO at the highest level and used a continuous discussion of the red, the leader as Scott serves as a reminder that the skin, consistency and purposes still win a long distance.

Therefore yes CEO series. Not promotion of companies or CEOs. Not for grilling workers about quarterly performance. But better to understand people for titles – and emphasize leadership that is not driven by ego or profit itself. Scott Clawson is one of these leaders and I’m glad we told a little his story. I hope you liked the video.
